Your wedding day is one of the most important and exciting days of your life! You have spent so much time planing your dream wedding, but after the party is over, the cake is eaten and the flowers wither away, all you have left are your wedding photos.
This is why I believe it is so important to have a quality, professional photographer to capture all the best moments of your big day. These will be photos that you look back on for the rest of your life, so you’ll want to make sure they come out just how you envisioned them!
In this blog post, we will break down some important things to consider when choosing your wedding photographer, as well as featuring some of our favorite Orlando photogs to work with!
1. Determine Your Photography Style
First off the bat, you should take time to narrow down what your preferred style of photography is. Do you want your pictures to be light and airy, or more warm and moody? Do you prefer a classic, formal style of photography, or do you prefer to have a relaxed feel?
Narrowing down the style you’d like your wedding photos to take on will help you select a photographer that matches your style perfectly. Take time to research different photographers in your area, and narrow it down to a choice few who really reflect your desired style.
2. How Much Do You Want to Invest?
As with selecting any wedding vendor, it is always important that you predetermine how much you’d like to spend on your wedding photographer, so that you are able to stay within your overall wedding budget. Once you have a price range in mind, reach out to the photographers whose work you love, to see what their pricing would be to shoot your wedding.
Pro Tip: if there is a photographer you are in love with, but full day coverage is a bit out of your price range, you can always consider having them cover the first portion of your wedding day. You can hire them to cover getting ready photos, ceremony, and the important parts of the wedding reception, and having their services conclude once open dancing begins.
3. What is Included in Their Package?
Each wedding photographer has a different package from one another, so it is important to consider what will be included when you book your photographer. Is a second shooter included? How many photos can you expect to receive in your wedding gallery? Will they provide a USB with your wedding photos on it? How long will it take to receive the full gallery?
Doing your research on your favorite photographers’ packages will allow you to make an informed booking decision, and will let you know exactly what to expect when you book them.
4. Book an Engagement Session
Booking an engagement session with your wedding photographer is not only a great way to capture your love before the big day, but is also a great chance to get to know your wedding photographer. An engagement session allows time for you and your beau to get comfortable with your wedding photographer in advance of your wedding day.
After completing your engagement session, you will feel much more comfortable with being in front of your photographer’s lens, and you will have already built a personal relationship with them. Then, when wedding day comes around, it will feel great to be working with a friendly and familiar face, which will in turn translate into gorgeous wedding photos!
